Lada Kolomiyets holds her PhD degree in Literary Theory and Advanced Scholarly Research degree (Doctor of Philological Sciences) in Translation Studies from the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Ukraine. She is a recipient of Fulbright scholarships at the University of Iowa (1996–1997) and the Pennsylvania State University (2017–2018). She is currently Professor of the Department of Theory and Practice of Translation from English at the TSNU of Kyiv. Her books include monographs Conceptual and Methodological Grounds of Contemporary Ukrainian Translations of British, Irish, and North American Poetry (2004) and Ukrainian Literary Translation and Translators in the 1920s–30s (2013, 2nd ed. 2015), textbooks on English–Ukrainian literary translation for graduate students, Ukrainian–English Dictionary of Linguistic Terminology (2013; co-author), and several other collective volumes. She is the contributing editor of the book Shevchenko Studies in the Modern World (2014).
